Winnie Cosson
Wilkerson Williamson
May 23, 1933 – April 5, 2023
Winnie Cosson Wilkerson Williamson, age 89, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 5, 2023 in Pensacola, Florida. She was born and raised in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. After the passing of her high school sweetheart Rex Wilkerson in 1990, Winnie moved to Milton, Florida to be closer to her oldest son and daughter in law, Randy and Debbie Wilkerson, who watched over and cared for her to the end of her life.
Winnie was Baptist by faith. She worked with Walton County School System for many years and most recently as a teacher's aide for Santa Rosa County School System (she loved children). Winnie was very active, highly social, and always had a story to tell to make you smile. She believed in having a good time with friends and family and enjoyed sporting around in her convertible sport cars until she had to stop driving due to her declining health. In her later years, Winnie moved into the University Pines Retirement Home in Pensacola, Florida where she enjoyed musical entertainment, games/activities and being with her many good friends. She fondly looked forward to the annual Cosson reunion coordinated by Jim Cosson and friends.
Winnie was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Crealous Cosson; first husband Walton Rex Wilkerson; brothers, Harry Cosson (Lucille) and S.A. Cosson (Pat). She was also preceded in death by her late husband Richard Williamson. Winnie is survived by her son Randy Wilkerson (Debbie), Pace, Florida; son Andy Wilkerson (Carolina), League City, Texas; and the love of her life, her grandson, Collins Wilkerson of Gulf Breeze, Florida; brother Wiley Cosson (Carol), Glendale, Florida. She is also survived by a very special sister-in-law Shirley Douglass (Dewayne) of Glendale, Florida and several very special nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Friday, April 14, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
