Mr. William Smith, age 84, passed away January 14, 2025.  He was born on October 21, 1940 in Louisville, Kentucky to George Smith and Grady Ellis.

Mr. Smith was a long-time resident of Freeport, Florida. He was Catholic by faith. Mr. Smith received his master's in education from the University of Louisville. He was a high school teacher and retired from Ballard High School in Louisville, Kentucky. He was inducted into the Dupont Manual High School Hall of Fame.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by George Smith, father, and Grady Ellis, mother, his brother Bobby Smith and sisters Pat Ferguson and Darlene Cowley and husband Charles Cowley.

Mr. Smith is survived by nephew Sean Ferguson and wife LaDonna Ferguson of Shepherdsville Kentucky, son Michael Smith and wife Karen Smith of Louisville, Kentucky, son Eric Smith and wife Suzee Smith of Louisville, Kentucky, son Tony Smith and son Walter Smith and wife Becca of Louisville, Kentucky, daughter Ann Garcia and husband Brad of Louisville Kentucky, 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
