Mrs. Virginia Merle Carroll, age 80, passed away October 23, 2024.  She was born on May 14, 1944 in Walton County, Florida to James Shirley and Beulah Harrison.

Mrs. Carroll was a lifelong resident of the Leonia Community. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Leonia Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed fishing and crocheting. She also enjoyed Diamond Art painting, growing flowers and collecting frogs.

Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her mother and father; Her husband of 56 years, John Wesley Carroll; three sisters, Betty Jean Shirley, Callie Mae Miller and Margaret Loray Canaday; one daughter in law, Alice Marie Carroll and one grandson, Luke Carroll.

Mrs. Carroll is survived by her four children, Robert Carroll and his wife Rita of Leonia, Florida, JW Carroll of Leonia, Florida, Cissy Combs and her husband Terry of Panama City, Florida and Curtis Carroll and his wife Marsha of Leonia, Florida; grandchildren, Terry Wayne Combs, Elmer Wesley Combs and his wife Sheryl, James Lawrence Combs and his wife Tara, Alisa Mae Cross, Scooter Carroll and his wife Kitrena, Izzy Carroll, Stephanie Cella and husband Terry and Carrie Newby and her husband Jacob; one brother, Pete Shirley and one sister Wilma Garr. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 AM, Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating.

Flowers are being accepted.

Burial will be held at Carroll Family Cemetery.
