Mares
August 7, 1935 – January 16, 2024
Ms. Violet Mares, age 88, passed away January 16, 2024. She was born on August 7, 1935 in Worden, Montana to Timothy Mares and Eloysa Roybal Mares.
Ms. Violet Mares was a resident of Freeport, Florida. She was Seventh Day Adventist by faith and a member of New Life Seventh Day Adventist Church in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She enjoyed going to the beach and working Sudoku puzzles in ink pen. She also enjoyed attending yard sales and cooking for her family.
Ms. Mares was preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers and one sister.
Ms. Mares is survived by her children Jim Craig and wife Bea of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and Chana McCormick and husband Boots McCormick, five grandchildren; Dustin Craig and wife Christy, Natalie Poltash and husband Michael, Dominic Craig, Hal Laird and wife Laura and Chase Craig and four great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 29, 2024 at New Life Seventh Day Adventist Church in DeFuniak Springs; 532 Lakeview Dr, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433 with Martin Fancher officiating.
Immediately after a graveside service will be held for immediate family at Hatcher Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donation be made to New Life Seventh Day Adventist Church in DeFuniak Springs at P.O Box 931, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
All check donations can be made payable to New Life Seventh Day Adventist Church and mailed to P.O Box 931, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
