Mr. Tommie Joe Gipson, age 86, passed away February 10, 2022.  He was born on January 8, 1936, in Mason City, Illinois to Jake Gipson and Fern Mangold Gipson.

Mr. Gipson was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces serving his country in the United States Navy. He worked as a private investigator owning his own business, Gipson Investigative Agency. He enjoyed painting and raising homing pigeons. He also served as a Baptist Minister.

Mr. Gipson was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jake Gipson and Fern Mangold Gipson, his sisters Zettie McDonald, Stephanie Crownover, and one son Todd Gipson, and one granddaughter Tinaya Cotton.

Mr. Gipson is survived by his wife of 42 years Marsha Ann Gipson, his eight children Terri Murphy and her husband Chester, Tommie Gipson, Tony Gipson and his wife Kimberly, Tammy Clark, Tonja Bowdoin, Tracy Huntington and her husband Stephen,  Danny Brackin and his wife Pam, and Tabatha Smith and her husband Nick Williams; his sisters Mary Ann Huntting and Theresa Organ and her husband Micheal; his twenty-four grandchildren, fifty-two great grandchildren and his four great great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church; 1985 Pleasant Ridge Rd, Westville, FL 32464; with Reverend Dale Paul officiating, with Military honors by the United States Navy.
