Dr. Thomas "Tom" James Kane, 69, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022. He was born on October 12, 1952 in Elmhurst, Illinois to Thomas Patrick Kane and Madalynn Dorothy Wilson Kane.
Dr. Kane was a resident of Mossy Head, Florida. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Victory Baptist Church in Crestview, Florida. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was affectionately known as Pepa. He was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm, serving his country in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army with over 20 years of service before retiring as a Major. He also served as a Christian Missionary for 27 years, having served in India and Burma. His passion was winning souls to Christ and planting churches.
Dr. Kane was preceded in death by his father and mother and 7 infant siblings.
Dr. Kane is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jerilyn Sue Kane of Mossy Head, Florida; two children, Thomas Michael Kane of Phenix City, Alabama and Lorien Deverse and husband Joshua of Mossy Head, Florida; seven grandchildren, Chelsea Faith Bohn and husband Joshua, Thomas Edward Kane, Madalyn Grace Kane, Ethan James Parks, Shamus Richard Deverse, Giovanni Joseph Deverse, and Isabella Ashlyn Deverse; and two sisters, Eileen Kane and Therese Marie Keane and husband Robert.
A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Hopson officiating.
Burial will follow in Mossy Head Cemetery with Military Honors by the United States Army.
