Suzanne Brown Jackson of Seagrove Beach, FL, passed away on December 7th , 2023 after displaying incredible strength and resilience in the face of a prolonged battle with cancer. Surrounded by the warmth of family, she passed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy defined by unwavering loyalty to all who knew her both as a nurturing mother and grandmother, as well as a loyal and steadfast friend.
Born May 31st ,1959 in Atlanta, Georgia to Frank Brown and Lucy Brown Wallace, Suzanne lived a life marked by generosity, the pursuit of joy, and a genuine concern for others. Suzanne earned her Bachelor of Education from Mercer University Atlanta and an Education Specialist degree from Georgia State University. Notably, she found immense joy in her early teaching career at Kilpatrick Elementary School in Jonesboro, Georgia, where she taught some of the youngest minds. Though she stepped away from formal teaching after the birth of her son, Suzanne's caring nature persisted and never wavered. A true volunteer extraordinaire, she never ceased seeking opportunities to help others, even in her final days. Suzanne embraced a lifetime of selfless acts of love and service, extending her compassion to family and community alike.
Suzanne is survived by her husband, Hardy Jackson of Seagrove Beach, Florida; her children William (Farrah) Jackson of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Anna (Jonathan) Misso of Calera, Alabama; her granddaughter Ellison Jackson of Cincinnati, Ohio; her father Frank (Doris) Brown of McDonough, Georgia; and her siblings Gary Brown of Williamson, Georgia, and Ellen (Arnie) Phipps of Franklin, Tennessee; as well as three nieces and three nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother Lucy Brown Wallace and her brother David Brown.
Pallbearers will be Garrison Brown, Philip Justiss, William Justiss, Jonathan Misso, Taylor Patterson, and Troy Wood.
In honor of Suzanne's love for the beach and all things blue, the family kindly recommends that friends and family wear any shade of blue to the services.
Receiving of friends will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Point Washington United Methodist Church; 1290 N Co Hwy 395, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Point Washington United Methodist Church; with Pastor Amy Pearsons officiating.
Graveside service will be held immediately after at Historic Gulf Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, you may send donations to the Point Washington Medical Clinic, reflecting Suzanne's long-time service and dedication to the clinic and passionate commitment to serving others.
