Mr. Stephen Houston McCormick, Sr. age 73, went home to be with the Lord on September 26, 2019. He was born July 10, 1946 to John and Effie Mae Rayburn McCormick.

Mr. McCormick  was a resident of Felda, Florida, originally from Darlington, Florida. He was Baptist by faith and a member of the Caloosa Baptist Church of LaBelle, Florida and a member of DeFuniak Springs First Baptist Church. Having taught Sunday School for many years and served on the Hospitality Committee. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He served as a School Board Member in Holmes County for 20 years. He also worked as a manager at Showell Farms where he worked for over 17 years before retiring. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed reading. He was an avid Florida State Football fan, and Kyle Busch NASCAR fan. He loved people, never met a stranger, and had a positive  impact on many lives. He also loved basketball. He had a great sense of humor.

Mr. McCormick  is preceded in death by his parents, John and Effie Mae McCormick,   wife Stephanie McCormick, brothers, Frank McCormick, Junior McCormick, Joe McCormick, Thurmon McCormick, sisters, Ethel Holley, Edna Messer,  and Anna Carroll

Mr. McCormick  is survived by his wife Sue McCormick, sons, Stephen Houston McCormick, Jr. and wife Vicki, Stacey  McCormick and wife Sonya, Jason McCormick, and daughter Whitney Rushing and husband Zachary, grandchildren, Lisa McCormick Brown , Jordan Kate McCormick, Griffin McCormick, Isaac McCormick, Aiden McCormick, and Wyatt Rushing,  three great grandchildren, step-children, Christy Rutan Ean Bruce and Jacob Bruce, sisters,  Willene Scroggins and husband Buck, Betty Brownell, Bertha Ulmer and Wynelle Stafford.

A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM, Monday, September 30, 2019 at

Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Jason Scroggins, Jeffery Scroggins, Greg Brownell, Mike Jones, Vick Smith and Danny Burns . Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Jones, Jack Huggins, Billy Eddins, Hubert Stafford, and Reno Smith.

Burial will follow in  Magnolia Cemetery.
