Mrs. Sarah Ellen Dunaway, age 88, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023.  She was born on March 16, 1935 in Niceville, Florida to John L. and Cozette Senterfitt Brewer.

Mrs. Dunaway was a resident of Freeport, Florida originally from Niceville, Florida. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Freeport First Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was affectionately known as Wennie. She worked for Florida Farm Bureau Insurance for 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed camping and traveling to the Mountains.

Mrs. Dunaway was preceded in death by her father and mother; husband Sam Dunaway; two grandsons Jason Simler, Jeffrey Thomas; two sisters Claudia Brewer and Nellie Wucherpfennig; one brother, James Brewer; and one son-in-law Rick Stone.

Mrs. Dunaway is survived by her children, Jessie Stone of Freeport, Florida, Sam Dunaway and wife Robin of Oklahoma, John Dunaway and wife Bonnie of Freeport, Florida and Mike Dunaway and wife Kristie of Freeport, Florida; brother, Jack Brewer of Holt, Florida; one brother-in-law, Chuck Wucherpfennig; sisters, Charlotte Godsey and husband James and Jeanette Barfield; and sister-in-law Elaine Brewer. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20 East, Freeport, Florida 32439.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 18, 2023 at Hatcher Cemetery; with Reverend Robert Samuels officiating.

Pallbearers will be Micheal Stone, Logan Dunaway, Jay Dunaway, Samuel Dunaway, Donnie Volkman and Mac Ream.

Burial will be held at Hatcher Cemetery.
