Rusty Lamar
Snyder
July 15, 1956 – October 28, 2022
Mr. Rusty Lamar Snyder - beloved husband, father, brother, and friend - passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022, surrounded by family and friends in DeFuniak Springs, FL. He was 66 years old and was born on July 15, 1956.
Rusty lived most of his life in Walton County where he worked hard for his family. Over the years, he made many friendships in his various positions. Some of his favorite memories included stories of loading furniture for Danley Furniture Company, working off shore on the tug boat, being a part of various construction jobs in North and South Walton Co., and eventually helping serve his community in customer service at Lowe's. He helped build and renovate many local buildings that he was very proud of throughout his career, including some around Lake DeFuniak and the old hospital on Bay Avenue.
Everyone who knew Rusty talks about his love for his family, the joy he had in making others laugh, his dedication to all things sports-related, and his love for rock and roll. He especially loved spending quality time with Gina, his kids, and his grandkids. From storytelling to jokes to singing random song lyrics, he always put a smile on their faces and the faces of anyone around him. Many conversations held with Rusty revolved around Florida State football, Kentucky Wildcats basketball, Rusty Wallace and NASCAR racing, Washington Redskins football, and his annual Fantasy Football team/league. He also loved to talk about music, specifically rock and roll, and all of the fun concerts he attended in his younger years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob Snyder and Shirley Andrews; his stepfather, Carl Andrews; one sister, Bobbie Myers; and his father-in-law, Bob Glass.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Gina Snyder; three children, Mikey Carroll and wife Heather, Carla Sconiers and husband Thomas, and Nathaniel Snyder; four grandchildren, Zander Carroll, Cearstyn Sconiers, Calli-Anne Sconiers, and Bowden Sconiers; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Palmer; three siblings, Mike Snyder and wife Brenda, Kelly Lovelady and husband Maurice, and Jamie Rickard; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435, with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating.
In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Liberty, 6775 Highway 331 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433.
