Mr. Robert "Bob" James Glenn, Sr, age 89, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026. He was born on June 26, 1936 in Birmingham, Alabama to John Alonzo Glenn and Anna Belle Evans Glenn.
Mr. Glenn was a resident of Bonifay and Chipley, Florida having moved from Birmingham, Alabama. He was Holiness by faith. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an ordained minister; he loved the Lord Jesus Christ with his whole heart. He was very involved with outreach and Prayer Ministry and was very blessed with a tremendous heart of gratitude always expressing thanks to others. Reading his Bible and sharing Christ with the lost was his passion.
Mr. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Terry Gene Glenn; his first wife, Vera Glenn Locke; one grandson Phillip Dennis Glenn, Jr; one brother, Donald Fred Glenn; one sister, Marie Leonard and daughter-in-law Linda Glenn.
Mr. Glenn is survived by his children, Robert J. Glenn Jr (Linda), Richard D. Glenn (Dianne), Michael K. Glenn Sr, Phillip Dennis Glenn Sr, Kathy D. Newsom (Kenneth), Joel T. Glenn (Paula) and Jeffery D. Glenn; grandchildren, David Glenn (Michelle), Joseph Glenn (April), James Glenn, Joshua Glenn, Michael Glenn, Jr, Krystal Glenn, Tyler Rhodes, Caleb Newsom (Julianne), Clay Newsom, Derek Glenn (Briana) and Kayla Glenn; great grandchildren, Kiley, David, Aaron, Emily, Kadence, Landon, Logan, Dylan, Harley, Austin, Ethan, Owen, Frances, Lily Kate and Hannah; brother, Johnny Ray Glenn (Martha); brother-in-law, Tom Leonard.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff on the third floor at Northwest Florida Community Hospital for their devotion, love and care to Mr. Glenn during his time of illness.
A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home with Reverends Joel Glenn, Robert Glenn Jr, Derek Glenn and Caleb Newsom officiating.
Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Liberty @ 6775 US Highway 331, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren David Glenn, Joseph Glenn, James Glenn, Joshua Glenn, Tyler Rhodes, Caleb Newsom, Clay Newsom, Derek Glenn and Kayla Glenn.
Burial will be held at Bonifay City Cemetery.
