Robert Dale Diamond passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024 at his home in DeFuniak Springs, surrounded by his family.  Bob was born on April 27, 1937 in St. Louis, MO to parents, Jack and Ruth Diamond.

After attending Missouri Military Academy, and graduating from Washington University in St. Louis, Bob worked in and later owned and ran the family's custom drapery and furniture business in St. Louis.  Around 1987, he sold the business and retired to Panama City, FL.  In the early years of retirement, "Captain Bob" enjoyed sailing the Gulf waters, and lived aboard "Jasmine" in South Florida off and on for several years.  In addition to his first mate, Elizabeth, Bob sailed many happy nautical miles with his "Co-Captain Michael", grandson.  Bob later gave up sailing for RVing, and hit the road in their motorcoach; always an adventurer, and rarely with a set destination or itinerary. Bob was all about living life on his terms, and always sported a favorite t-shirt and comfy boat shoes.

Bob leaves behind a devoted wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Hayes Diamond, and sons Mike Diamond of Monks Corner, SC, Pat Diamond and wife Susan of Springfield, MO, Steve Gavin and wife Madeline of Garland, TX, and Anthony and wife Roni of DeFuniak Springs, FL, and grandchildren.

Bob was predeceased by his parents and sisters.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Emerald Coast Hospice in memory of Bob Diamond at 550 Redstone Ave W, Ste 310 Crestview, FL 32536.

Pallbearers will be Mike Diamond, Pat Diamond, Steve Gavin, Anthony Gavin, Larry Hayes and Derick Edge.

Burial will be held at Magnolia Cemetery.
