On Saturday March 12, 2022 Peter J. Van Hesteren passed away in West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Florida after suffering 2 strokes in early September at the age of 45. He was born in Shelby, Ohio on March 3, 1977. He leaves behind his married, but separated wife Shannon N. Van Hesteren, 2 children, a son, Devin Scott and a daughter, Jenna R. Amore. He also leaves behind his father and stepmother, Scott A. and Anita D. Van Hesteren, his mother and stepfather, Carla J. and Bruce Wells, a brother, Michael S. Van Hesteren, stepsisters, Carrie (Brian) Shroeder, Tessa Mai, Kelly Walker, Peggy Walker, and a stepbrother, Eddie Walker. In addition are Aunts and Uncles Chris (Melanie) Van Hesteren, Judy (Rick) Gulley, Kim Van Hesteren, Betty Peay, Michelle (William) Emborski, and Beth (Russ) Foster, Gladys Stutler, Susan Hunter, and Thomas (Robin) Beaver, his adopted family, Tom & Sue Aumend, Carmilia and Dennis Andrews, Cody Sanders, and Emily Sanders, Penny Rome, Dallas Aumend, Donnie Eiler, and special friends Dylan Emel, Rachel Wagner, Debi Augustus, and Kenny Watkins. Pete also had numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Patricia M. Smith, Grandfather A. Bruce Van Hesteren, stepGrandmother Della I. Van Hesteren, maternal Grandfather Carl Cole, Grandmother Jacqueline Cole, Aunt Jacky Payne, and Uncle Albert Cole.
Pete loved playing softball and was in the process of passing his love and passion for the game on to the younger generation before he became stricken. Memorialization will be by cremation. There will not be a service at this time.
