Obituary

Mrs. Nellie Louise Vogel, 98, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022. She was born on October 11, 1923 in Boston, Massachusetts to James E. Crabe and Nellie A Jay Crabe.

Mrs. Vogel was a resident of Walton County, having moved from Kentucky 41 years ago. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Bible Baptist Church in Freeport, Florida. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was the owner and director of the Galilean Academy since 1976, teaching and impacting many children during her career.

Mrs. Vogel is preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband John Vogel; son Douglas Vogel; brother Eddie Crabe; and her sisters Louise Crabe and Martha Crabe.

Mrs. Vogel is survived by her special friends that were like family, Denise and David Stofila, Liz Dickey and husband Cyle, and daughter Sophie Dickey. Jeff Stofila and wife Danielle. Matt Stofila and Ashley Mullis, and son Ealum Stofila. Bryleigh Stofila, Isaiah Stofila, and mother Brittany Stofila; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 8, 2022 at Magnolia Cemetery; 222 North Park Street, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433 with Reverend Mickey Strickland officiating.
