Mr. Michael Dale Matthews, age 63, passed away January 30, 2023. He was born on December 28, 1959 in Martinez, California to J.D. Matthews and Marie Virginia Reynolds Matthews.

Mr. Matthews was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was a general superintendent with Bates Engineers/Contractors. He loved his family life, camping, riding his motorcycle, and doing projects around the house. He would always help others and spend time with his family every chance he could. He would stop everything to help anyone that would call without complaint. He asked for so little and gave so much.

Mr. Matthews was preceded in death by J.D. Matthews, Jimmy Matthews, and J.C. Matthews.

Mr. Matthews is survived by his wife, Kay Matthews; his mother Marie Matthews; his daughters, Janie Matthews and Kristy Whitehouse; son Josh Matthews; sons-in-law David Milburn, and Tim Whitehouse; his grandchildren: Addy, Eli, Shawna, Kenzie, Khyler, Austin, Kassidy, Laci, Jacob, Lily, Elliot, and Haily June; Larry, Jerry, Terry Lee Matthews; and sisters-in-law; and many more nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Saturday, February 11 ^th , 2023 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, February 11 ^th , 2023 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating.
