Mr. Michael Wright Carr, age 70, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023. He was born on February 12, 1953 in Booneville, Mississippi to Curtis and Nina Holley Carr.

Mr. Carr was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was Baptist by faith and was a member of Southwide Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devoted and avid Ole Miss Rebel fan. He graduated from The University of Mississippi receiving his bachelor's degree in business administration. He was a lifelong coach for sales teams and softball teams. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren – they were his whole world.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; beloved wife of 42 years Donna Heaton Carr; mother-in-law Lula Heaton; father-in-law Bob Heaton; two brothers Gene Carr and Emmett Carr; and sister-in-law Gaye Carr.

Mr. Carr is survived by his two daughters Brianna Leavins (Josh Harrison) of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Brittany Swinford (Josh Swinford) of Gulf Breeze, Florida; five grandchildren Reed Leavins, Brylee Leavins, Clara Swinford, Owen Swinford, Sophie Swinford; one sister Era Ann Carr of Milton, Florida; one sister-in-law Anne Carr; and numerous nephews, nieces, and many other extended family and close friends who will miss him dearly.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Southwide Baptist Church; 1307 Coy Burgess Loop, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Southwide Baptist Church; 1307 Coy Burgess Loop, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435, with Reverend Jeremy Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow in Southwide Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Carr, Josh Harrison, Bryan Leavins, Reed Leavins, Josh Swinford, and Robbie Thurman.
