Obituary

Mr. Max Garodnick, age 82, passed away September 8, 2022. He was born on August 25, 1940 in Raleigh, North Carolina to Irvin Garodnick and Mary Layton Garodnick. Mr. Garodnick was a resident of Freeport, Florida. He was Pentecostal by faith and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Freeport. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces, serving his country as an aircraft mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and spending time with family. Mr. Garodnick was preceded in death by his father and mother; and his wife of 58 years, Gladys Burnham Garodnick. Mr. Garodnick is survived by his children, Mary A. Skelly and husband Stan, Mickey Garodnick, Willie Garodnick, Shirley Farrington (all of Freeport), and Ruth Van Giesen and husband Michael of Caryville, Florida; his brother Bill Garodnick of Texas; two grandchildren, Paul Carpenter and Julie Farrington; and three great-grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Monday, September 12, 2022 at Hatcher Cemetery; Hatcher Cemetery Road, Freeport, Florida 32439. Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 12, 2022 at Hatcher Cemetery with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating and Military Honors by the United States Air Force. Flowers are being accepted.
