Mrs. Mary Frances Barrett, age 89, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023. She was born on May 12, 1934 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Lorendel and Georgia Ann McLendon Armstrong.

Mrs. Barrett was a lifelong resident of Walton County, Florida. She was Presbyterian by faith and was a member of Euchee Valley Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked at Maude Saunders Elementary School for several years. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and quilting.

Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her father and mother; one brother Howard Armstrong of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; one sister Betty Haveard of Crestview, Florida; and one son James Sidney Manning of DeFuniak Springs, Florida.

Mrs. Barrett is survived by her loving husband Edison Barrett of DeFuniak Springs; one son Joseph Evans and wife DanaKay of DeFuniak Springs; two daughters Janet Evans of DeFuniak Springs, Jacqueline Adams and husband Ricky Adams of Paxton; one grandson Wesley Evans and wife Catrina of DeFuniak Springs; two granddaughters Randa Schumacher and husband Greg of Kaui, Magen Adams Moore and husband Garrett of Paxton; two great-granddaughters Bristol Moore, Lillian Evans; one great-grandson Wyatt Evans; one brother James Armstrong and wife Mary of DeFuniak Springs; one sister Claudia Permenter; and many, much loved, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Monday, October 30, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 30, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Richard Murray, Sr. and David Green officiating.

Pallbearers will be Randy Permenter, Russell Permenter, Robert Permenter, Richard Permenter, Joe Haveard, Tommy Armstrong, and J.W. Armstrong.

Flowers are being accepted, or donations may be made to Euchee Valley Presbyterian Church at 5551 County Highway 183 South, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32455.

Burial will follow in Euchee Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
