Mr. Marvel "Joe" Alfred Ammons, age 77, passed away July 3, 2022. He was born on July 12, 1944 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Henry Oscar Ammons and Irene Bowden Ammons.
Mr. Ammons was a lifelong resident of Walton County, Florida. He was Holiness by faith and a member of Macedonia Holiness Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, He worked in construction as an Electrician and Plumber for many years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family. He enjoyed telling a good story.
Mr. Ammons was preceded in death by his mother and father; first wife Elizabeth Ammons; five brothers Archie Ammons, Willard Ammons, Ray Ammons, Jack Ammons and C.Q. Ammons and one sister Mary Roak, and life partner Linda Simmons.
Mr. Ammons is survived by his children Keith Ammons and wife Kim of Ponce De Leon, Kevin Ammons and wife Alicia of Ponce De Leon, Florida; three grandchildren Kevin Ammons Jr, Kelby Ammons and Delaney Ammons; four great grandchildren Mckynze Shayne, Malayna Elizabeth, Georgie and Angelina; one brother Truman Ammons of Ponce De Leon; and one sister Sue Gavin of Bonifay, Florida
Celebration of life service will be 4:00 PM, Saturday, July 9, 2022 Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435 with Reverend Mike McVay officiating .
