Obituary for Mark Wesley Spiers

Mark Entered this life on December 14, 1959. On December 17, 2022 Mark left his suffering behind for streets of gold to walk with Jesus in Heaven above.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, JD and Margaret Spiers of Ponce de Leon, Florida. He is survived by his son Justin Spiers and daughter Dawn Gilbert along with his wonderful fiancé Jackie Knight; grandchildren Connor Spiers, Bryson Hattaway, Hayden Waggoner Jr., Rashawn Karma, and Matthew Gundrum; brother Jesse Spiers (Lydia) of Ponce de Leon; sisters B. Sue Rushing (Kirby) of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Floy Strain (Mike) of Picayune, Mississippi and Cindy Owen of Dothan, Alabama; many nieces and nephews.

Mark graduated from Ponce de Leon High School and served our country in the United States Army. He worked in construction and was last employed by Healthmark Regional Hospital, DeFuniak Springs, in maintenance until his health recently declined.

By his own testimony, his greatest joy in later life was coming to know Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Ponce de Leon, Florida.

Receiving of friends will be held from 1:30 – 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 7, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Ponce de Leon, Florida: 2879 N FL-81, Ponce De Leon, FL 32455.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 7, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Ponce de Leon, Florida, with military honors by the United States Army.
