Mrs. Margaret "Marti" Darlene (Hartzog) Bishop, 55 of Freeport, Florida, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, Saturday, September 21, 2024, after a battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Danny Cortez Hartzog; sister, Mona Hartzog Merritt; grandparents, Buel and Catherine Hartzog, Billie Doss Cameron and Harold Gossett as well as Earnest and Donia (Blackie) Bishop.

Marti is survived by her fiercely loving and dedicated husband of 27 years, Brian Bishop; beloved son, Charles Misso and daughter, Kristi Marie Courier (Ty); granddaughter, Mona Marie Courier; Bonus daughter, Mary Beth Bishop, bonus granddaughter, Alanis Watson; father-in-law, Earnest A. Bishop (Gail); mother-in-law, Brenda Cook (Billy); brother in law, Garrett Floyd (Amber) and sister in law, Paige Floyd-Hart (Kyle); nephews, Matthew Morris and Daniel Morris(Kayla) as well as great-nephews, Brayden M. Morris, Cullen Newsome and Levi Newsome; sister, Catherine Jones (Robbie) and brother, D. Christopher Hartzog.

Our beloved wife, mother and Grandmother (Neena) will forever live in our hearts known as both gentle and fierce, nurturing, tender and compassionate. Always generous with love that is pure, selfless and unconditional.

The mere mention of her son, Charles, brought a quick smile to her face. A connection beyond words, best friends, a mother's only cherished son. "And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart" Luke 2:5.

Kristi Marie, a beautiful daughter with a golden heart that mirrors her mothers. Innately understanding only an animal loves you more than it loves itself.

Mona Marie, a granddaughter for Neena. A legacy reflecting the tenacity and resilience of a true and fierce fighter. Passionate, hopeful and loving without measure.

She takes with her to Heaven, the piece of her sister which she has held within. A brief parting on earth will appear one day as nothing beside the joy of eternity together. Most certainly joyous reunion.

Brian, husband and most ferocious advocate. In Heavens River, calm and clear, he angles for memories, of so dear. Casting his lines, with love he implores, to bring back memories to cherish once more. With every gentle tug perceived, a cherished memory ready to retrieve. In the depths of his celestial stream, his love for her will forever gleam. Though distance may separate us, our bond remains unbreakable.

"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. God is within her, she will not fall."

Though her chair is vacant there was a happy reunion in Heaven.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Black Creek Cemetery; with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating.
