Mr. Mahlon Bengston, age 75, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023. He was born on June 11, 1948 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Clayton and Artie Edna Nelson Bengston.

Mr. Bengston was a lifelong resident of Walton County, Florida and was Baptist by faith. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He worked as a dump truck driver for many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Mr. Bengston was preceded in death by his father and mother; and brother Rocky Cosson.

Mr. Bengston is survived by the mother of his children and love of his life Angie Russ of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; his three children Jimmy Peters, Lori Jordan and husband Dwayne, Amanda Bengston and husband Troy all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; ten grandchildren Jessie Griffin and husband George, Jennie Franks, Latisha Sutton and husband Matt, Loranda Nelson and Kim, Robin Hall, David Hall, Billy Scott, Alyssa Scarbrough, Kolton Bohannon, Adalyn Bohannon; fifteen great-grandchildren; four brothers James Bengston, Donnie Bengston and wife Lori, Mack Bengston, Oscar Bengston; and five sisters Shirley Ward and husband Gary, Sarah Cosson, Jenny Johnson and husband Charles, Linda Joyce Tyler and husband Jim, and Edna Kendrick and husband Mike.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 26, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Woodlawn; 95 Cedar Drive, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 26, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Woodlawn with Reverend David Lain officiating.

Flowers are being accepted.

Burial will follow in Woodlawn First Baptist Church Cemetery.
