Obituary

With great sadness and love the family of Wilbur Burkett announces his passing on August 17, 2022 at Grand Boulevard Health and Rehabilitation Center in Miramar Beach, Florida, at the age of 86.

Lois Ray "Wilbur" Burkett was born in Gaskin, Florida and was a life-long resident of Walton County. He served in the United States Navy as a Signalman and retired from the Florida Army National Guard. He was employed in the Walton County Vehicle Inspection Office of the State of Florida. He participated in life sustaining medical research. He entertained at Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with the Beats Me Band along with other activities. He was also a member of the Lions Club for many years.

Wilbur is preceded in death by his parents, Ella May Truett and William H. Burkett; Lois "Pauline" Dickey, Otis Burkett, and Billy Wayne Truett.

Wilbur is survived by one sister, Betty Sue Wood, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved extended family members.

A time of Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 5:00 PM, Monday, August 22, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 PM, Monday, August 22, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Steve Vergara officiating and Military Honors by the United States Navy.
