Linnie "David" Rhodes, age 61 of Ponce De Leon, Florida passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025. Born August 18, 1963, David lived in Atlanta, Georgia in his younger years and Dripping Springs, Texas as a teenager, eventually moving back to Atlanta. David and his wife eloped to Florida in 1984. He lived a life full of love, laughter, and devotion to his family. He was married to Paige Rhodes for 40 cherished years, and they built a life centered around family, fun and the simple joys of country living.
David is survived by his beloved wife Paige, his three children: son, Josua and wife Michelle, son Jacob and his wife Alexandria, and son Jesse, beloved grandchildren, Landon, Fay, Raegan, Sutton, Hayden, Sawyer and Finley. David's legacy will live on in the memories of countless hours he spent with his grandchildren hunting, fishing and often leading spirited card games or refereeing intense round of four square.
David was preceded in death by his mother Charlotte Rhodes, and his survived by his father, Philip Alexander Rhodes, Jr., , and his partner, Jane Hilfer, his sister Caitlin, and her husband Acres Moore, along with his extended family including his in-laws, J. Robert Snypp Jr. and Sara Snypp, sister-in-law Renee Snypp, sister-in-law Sabra Snypp, brother in law J. Robert Snypp III and his wife DeAnn, along with their children J. Robert IV and Walker.
David's passions included hunting with his sons and grandchildren, spending quiet days on his ranch tending to his cows and fishing on the bay with his devoted dogs, Cowboy and Izzy. Before retiring, he worked in construction where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic, but his true joy came from the time spent with his family. He cherished the moments spent outdoors, the camaraderie of shared meals, and the simple pleasure of life with those he loved.
David's quiet strength and unwavering love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him. His presence, his warmth, and his laughter will be missed deeply but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
A Ceremony will be held 2:30 PM, Friday, Janaury 31, 2025 at the Family Ranch; 1111 Triple J Lane, Ponce DeLeon, Florida 32455.
