Kathy (Burris) Haynes, 75, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, passed away on September 25, 2025. Born on May 3, 1950, in Blytheville, Arkansas.

Kathy pursued her education in cosmetology and business management at Avon Park Community College. She had a successful career as the general manager at Tradewinds newspaper and later retired as a stylist, leaving a lasting impact on those she served.

Kathy was an avid Christian who loved God, family, and friends. She was also very talented in crafts, including knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitching, and she enjoyed playing the piano.

Kathy is preceded in death by her dad "Buck" Burris and mom "Elizabeth" (Battles) Isabell, as well as her sisters, Yvonne (Burris) Sorrels and Carol (Kerley) Stewart and her brother, Tommy Kerley.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Haynes; her brother, John Kerley Sr. and his wife, Charlene; her sisters, Tracy Boone and her husband, Wes Boone, and Linda Kerns and her husband, Rusty Kerns; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to a church or food pantry of your choice in Kathy's name.
