Mrs. Karen Elaine Koerner Des Jardins, age 83, passed away June 9, 2025 in her home surrounded by loving family. She was born on January 10, 1942, in Owosso, Michigan to Norman Otto Koerner and Ardis Jane Koerner.
Mrs. Des Jardins was a resident of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida for twenty-six years. She was an Episcopalian by faith and attended Christ the King Episcopal Church. She was an honorary partner to her husband Jerry's law practice and was an active member of her community. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother.
In Owosso, Karen served as President of the Owosso Memorial Hospital auxiliary. She was an active member at the Owosso Country Club. She enjoyed tennis and golf.
Mrs. Des Jardins was preceded in death by her father Norman Otto Koerner, mother Ardis Jane Koerner and her loving husband, Jerry.
Mrs. Des Jardins is survived by her daughters, Marcy Des Jardins of Freeport, Florida, Mary (Chris) Lallier of Texas and Margo (Reed) Findlay of Connecticut and grandchildren, Harper and Piper Lallier, and Maxwell and Devin Findlay. She is also survived by her loving brother, Norman (Debbie) Koerner and her beloved sister Noel Koerner who she warmly referred to as her "puppy sister" and life partner Karen Duerr.
Karen's first love was her family, she was an avid book reader and member of book clubs and loved her furry friends Ladybug and Diamond.
Celebration of Life services will be held in the near future at Christ the King Episcopal Church; 480 North County Highway 393, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Shiawassee District Library in Owosso, Michigan at https://www.mysdl.org/ .
A private burial will be held at Historic Gulf Cemetery in Santa Rosa Beach.
