Obituary

John Norman Williams went to be with his Savior Lord Jesus Christ on 15 November 2022. He is now with his beloved wife Delinda Toni Williams, who went to her rest 31 December 2016. They are now in joy with their Lord. Toni was a gift of God to me for 34 years of marriage as she brought unmeasurable love and joy into my heart and soul. I am so pleased to go and be with her.

John was born to John F. and Ivory C. Williams in 1937 at Talladega, AL. He was one of six children—Mary, Billy, Ray, Jean, Harold, and Iris. All have preceded him. He was also preceded by his son Matthew N. Williams in 2010, and by his stepson David A. Porter in 2013. John is survived by his daughter Sonya N. Batson; grandsons Richard Batson Malone; Zachary Caine Bryant; and Stepchildren Jeanne Showwalter; Wendy Woods and William T. Porter III.

John served in the USAF from 1954 to 1961 as a jet fighter technician and guided missile technician at Eglin AFB, White Sands Missile Range; and in North Africa. He left the USAF in 1961 and moved to Hunstville, AL. to work with NASA on the Apollo Lunar Landing Program. He returned to the Eglin AFB area in 1969 as the President of Spectrum Consultants and worked as a systems engineer on guided munitions and guided missiles. He also worked with Martin Marietta Aerospace as the Southeast Corporate Manager until he retired in the early 1990's.

John and Toni moved to the beautiful mountains of northern Georgia after his retirement where they lived a life of total happiness. They both knew fulfillment and joy in their Christian life as owners of a land development and construction company. They returned to the Fort Walton area in 2010 to be close to their children.

John will be cremated, and his remains will be mixed with those of his beloved wife Toni for internment at the family plot at the Point Washington Cemetery, Santa Rosa Beach, FL. John has requested that there not be any services for him.

Mt final message to me friends and family is simple: Keep the Faith and may the Lord bless you and keep you from all harm. I am going to my homecoming to be with my beautiful wife and my Lord. I need both of them every hour. May you know peace, love and joy as Toni and I did while on this temporary home called earth. I thank our Christian friends and our church for love and fellowship over the years.
