Ms. Jean Clay McKinney, age 87, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023. She was born on January 2, 1936 in Wilson, Arkansas to Samuel Agustus and Emma Florence Tolbert Clay.
Ms. McKinney was a resident of Freeport, Florida moving from Brooksville, Mississippi. She was Methodist by faith and was a member of Brooksville United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She helped her husband in the family farm business for many years. She enjoyed reading and growing flowers. She also enjoyed fishing at her lake house.
Ms. McKinney was preceded in death by her father and mother; husband Calvin G. McKinney; two brothers Jimmy "Bo" Clay, Bob Clay; and one sister Gloria Benford.
Ms. McKinney is survived by her three children Ricky Lee Kesler, Billy Don Kesler, Sandra Sue Caudill and husband Roger; nine grandchildren Shane Kesler and wife Hope, Shannon Coker and husband Bradley, Kate Burnette and husband Will, Ashley Overton and husband Chad, Dusty Kesler, Niki Kesler, Haley Kelley and husband Justin, Kemp Caudill and wife Allie, Pasty Myrick and husband Mike; seventeen great-grandchildren Paul, Clay, Seth, Ana Collins, Henry, Graham, Campbell, Davaney, Reece, Rocco, Hampton, Jackson, Emma, Knox, Huck, Collin, and Mary Kate.
Burial will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbus, Mississippi; 176 Frontage Road.
