James E. Henderson entered his final rest at his home surrounded by his family on January 7, 2022. He was born December 7, 1933 to Gordon W. Henderson and Carrie Bell Rushing Henderson. He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 47 years, Chestine Spence Henderson and grandson James Tyler Manning. As a boy he lived in Eucheeana Valley. Upon graduation in 1953 from Walton Senior High School he worked for Fishers Hardware. In 1956 he enlisted in the United States Army and in 1957, on furlough, he married the love of his life, Chestine.  Upon completing his service to our country in 1958 he built their home in Defuniak Springs right outside of town. He worked as a carpenter for many years and raised poultry for Showell Farms. James was known to all for his strong work ethic, honesty, strength, and care of Chestine and his family. He will be remembered by those that loved him most for his genuine and unwavering character that words could never do service. He is survived by his children, Karen H. Anglin (Chris), and Mark S. Henderson, His grandchildren, Heather Henderson (John), Haley Rodgers (Roderick), great-grandchildren, Makenzie Bradshaw (Reggie), Chandler Roulhac, Bailey Miller, Madison Miller, Amiah Rodgers, and Spence Henderson, great great grandchildren Hayden and Kaleb Bradshaw.

Memorialization will be by Cremation.
