Mr. James David Smith, age 54, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024.  He was born March 20, 1970 in Summerville, Georgia to Jasper Howard Smith and Shirley Wright Smith.

Mr. Smith was a resident of Prattville, Alabama. James was an avid guitarist who loved to play his guitars for hours throughout the day. Having many amplifiers and guitars set up in his home, you could come to his home most any day and hear the talented music coming from his house. If he came to visit, he always had a guitar and was ready to play in a moment's notice. He was a self-taught, musician and could play any musical selection that someone requested. He was also a very talented mechanic and had the ability to repair all of his trucks and cars. He had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed making others laugh. He always would find a way to give others a humorous nickname and it would stick with them forever. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and loved fishing. He had an extremely generous heart and was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved texting his family with humorous text. You could always expect a text out of the blue that would simply say "AND ALL". You knew that was James telling you that he loved you and was thinking about you.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Howard Lamar Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Kristie Turner; daughter, Jamie Smith; son, Cole Turner; his brother, Michael Smith, sisters Paula Smith Glenn (Joel) and Tammy Fincher (Billy); nephews and nieces;   Michael Smith, Jr. ( Charlotte), Amanda Smith Kelly (Adam), Brandon Fincher, Derek Glenn  (Briana), Bradley Fincher, Kayla Glenn, Jasper Smith, Kaylee Smith and Dustin Smith; grandchildren; Jayden, Jordan, Jaicee, and Paris, and special friend Corrine Foster.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 21, 2024 at Historic Gulf Cemetery; 1466 County Highway 393 South, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459, with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating.
