Mr. Bob Butler, age 88, passed away July 22, 2024.  He was born on April 10, 1936 in Cumming, Georgia to Hamilton Stephenson Butler and Vera Moore Butler

Mr. Butler was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved reading the Bible every day, hunting and fishing. He worked at Cofer Bros in Tucker, Georgia, Write Rite Paper Company in Chamble, Georgia, and Union Camp Corporation, after they bought out Write Rite. Bob married Shirley Ann Weathers from Norcross, Georgia in 1958. They had two children Robert Larry Butler and DeeAnn Butler Peels. Bob was a man who loved the Lord and would tell everybody about Jesus that would listen, he loved to talk about the Bible. Bob taught the young boys at Fields of the Woods Baptist Church where he was a member there until he moved to Florida. Bob and Shirley moved to Florida in 1998, along with Dee and Al's family to be near Larry and the family. They built three houses and enjoyed many years together. Bob and Shirley found a good Baptist Church and both children and family joined. Bob taught the Senior Sunday Class until health would no longer let him.

Mr. Butler was preceded in death by his father and mother, Hamilton Stephenson Butler and Vera Moore Butler; brothers, J.S., Bubber, Junior, Edwin, Cecil, Bill, Ruben and Pat and sisters, Ida Mae, Lou, Edna, Joyce and Gail.

Bob is survived by his two children Robert Larry Butler and DeeAnn Butler Peels; 6 grandchildren, Eric Peels, Greg Peels, Melanie Butler, Cole Butler, Blake Butler and Taylor Butler; 5 great grandchildren, Tanner, McKenzie, Cody Peels, and Stella and Garrison Peels and numerous nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held from 1:00-8:00 PM, Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home Peachtree Corners Chapel; 5051 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Peachtree Corners, Georgia 30092.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home Peachtree Corners Chapel.

Flowers are being accepted.

Burial will be held at Eidson Cemetery, in DeKalb, Georgia.
