Mr. James Franklin Bailey, Jr., age 81, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, July 31, 2023 following a brief illness. He was born on December 22, 1941 to the late Elmor Craven and Cecil Josephine Craven of Kansas City, Missouri.

Mr. Bailey attended Florala First Presbyterian Church and Glendale Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Jim graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was drafted into the Army in 1968 and served one year in Vietnam. Mr. Bailey worked in the medical field in various facilities before retiring from the state of Georgia in 1962.

Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Mr. Bailey is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Patricia Dukelow Bailey; two sons Mike and wife Lynn of Statesboro, Georgia, James and wife Sherry of Winder, Georgia; one granddaughter Kayla of Statesboro, Georgia; one grandson Luke of Winder, Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Receiving of friends will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Glendale Presbyterian Church; 9218 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Glendale Presbyterian Church; 9218 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, with Reverend Bill Richoux officiating and military honors by the United States Army.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glendale Presbyterian Church, 9218 State Highway 83 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, or to Camp Victory, 363 Victory Circle, Samson, Alabama 36477.
