Obituary

Mr. Jack Columbus Guthrie, age 96, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022. He was born December 7, 1925 in Murphy, North Carolina.

Mr. Guthrie, was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was Christian by faith and a member of the First Christian Church in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was a veteran of WWII, serving his country in the United States Army as a Tail Gunner. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He worked as a truck driver for many years and he also enjoyed farming and gardening.

Mr. Guthrie was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 52 years, Evelyn Guthrie.

Mr. Guthrie is survived by his son, Lawrence Hanagriff and wife Patty; his grandchildren; Jack Hanagriff and wife Kathy, Julie Garrett and husband Wayne; great grandchildren, Amber Haney and Ross, Cody and Samantha Garrett, Toby and Georgia Garrett; great great grandchildren, Emma, Remi and Kimberlin. Also survived by brothers and sisters.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wilbur Williams officiating.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Garrett, Jack Hanagriff, Cody Garrett, Toby Garrett, Lester Johnson and Austin Butts.

Burial will follow at the First Christian Church Cemetery.

Flowers are being accepted.
