Mr. Howard Lamar Smith, age 58, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023. He was born on February 14, 1965 in Columbiana, Alabama to Jasper Howard Smith and Shirley Christine Wright Bruner.

He was a resident of Chipley, Florida and was Christian by faith. He was a devoted brother, son, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed cooking and family gatherings. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, collecting Indian artifacts, especially arrowheads, and was also an avid knife collector. He worked as a meat cutter in the grocery store industry. He loved taking care of his animals. He was always willing to help anyone in need.

Mr. Smith was predeceased by his father and mother.

Mr. Smith is survived by his siblings, Michael Alan Smith of Chipley, Florida, James David Smith of Prattville, Alabama, Paula J. Glenn, husband Joel, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, and Tammy G. Smith (Billy Fincher) of Rocky Face, Georgia. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.

Flowers are being accepted.

Burial will follow in Historic Gulf Cemetery in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
