Mr. Harrel Weeks, age 93, passed away, Monday, July 18, 2022. He was born May 14, 1929 in Homes County, Florida to John Raymond Weeks and Glannie Mae  Davidson Weeks.

Mr. Weeks was a resident of the Walton County, Florida since 1953. He was Baptist by faith and a member the First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs for 60 years.He was a combat veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving his country in the United States Army, with honor.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He never met a stranger. He graduated from the University of Florida. He worked as a Soil Scientist with the United States Department of Agriculture for 35 ½ years before retiring. After retiring he continued his father's legacy of farming cattle. He was a favorite at Mamie's and Eds Restaurant ready to speak to anyone that came in. He was an avid fisherman. He had five loves faith, family, fishing, farming and friends.

Mr. Weeks was preceded in death by his father and mother; and his wife of 52 years, Sarah Lonie Weeks; a grandchild Chasen Scheid and two great grandchildren Darrian Clyde Chancy and Travis Harrell Chaney.

Mr. Weeks is survived by his son John Weeks and wife Cindy of Crestview, Florida; daughter Karen Weeks of Cartersville, Georgia; five grandchildren, Jason Chaney and fiancé Annie Mahaffey, Justin Chaney and wife Ivey, Jeb Chaney, and J.R. Weeks; and his great-grandchildren, Trinity Miller, Andrew St. Amand, Shelby Day, Jasper Chaney, Ellie Brynn Chaney and Sarah Weeks Chaney; and life partner Nancy Holder of DeFuniak Springs, Florida.

A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 22, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating and Eulogy by Peck Cawthon.

Pallbearers will be Jason Chaney, Justin Chaney, J.R. Weeks, Andrew St. Amand, Peck Cawthon, Joel Paul, John David Owens, and Gus Andrews.

Burial will follow at Hurricane Creek Cemetery; State Highway 2A and Vaughn Rd., Westville, FL 32464.

Flowers are being accepted or donation can be given to First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs; 216 Live Oak Ave E, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.
