Obituary

Mr. Hebert, Jr. age 78, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024. He was born July 23, 1945 in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana to Hamilton D. Hebert Sr. and Doris A. Martin Hebert. Mr. Hebert, Jr. was a resident of Freeport Florida. Hamilton, who went by Beau, graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor's degree in History. Beau then graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas. Beau taught law in Melbourne, Florida where he met his wife Susan. Beau joined the United States Air Force and achieved the rank of Major working both as a Judge Advocate General and moving on to work in Special Operations. During his time in the military, Beau was stationed just outside St. Louis, in San Antonio Texas, and at Hurlburt field in Northwest Florida. He had three children with Susan during this timeframe- Robert born 1985 outside St. Louis, Elizabeth born 1988 in San Antonio, and Michelle born 1990 when he was stationed at Hurlburt Field. Retiring with full honors, Beau went on to work for Bud Day's Law Office and later in the Florida State Attorney General's office in Tallahassee. Then, following a long hobby and interest in computer science, Beau found a job in that field for FedEx in Memphis, Tennessee. In this area Beau was able to enjoy his favorite hobby- flying airplanes. He and his family lived in Collierville until his retirement in 2010 when he relocated to Freeport, FL. Here he was able to enjoy his second favorite hobby, boating. His third favorite hobby, Beau enjoyed cars- buying old/broken ones, fixing them up and selling for profit. Through his retirement era of almost 14 years, Beau had 2 major battles with cancer, the second of which taking his life. Mr. Hebert, Jr.  was preceded in death by his  daughter, Elizabeth. Mr. Hebert, Jr. is survived by his wife, Susan who lives in Freeport, Florida, his son Robert who lives with his wife and 2 children in Alpharetta, Georgia, his daughter Michelle who lives with her husband and 2 children in Freeport, Florida. Services: A Hail & Farewell will be held privately for close friends and family. Memorial Contributions: In the fight against cancer, in lieu of flowers, please donate to CancerCare: www.cancercare.org (http://www.cancercare.org/)
