Gerdena Posey Hollingsworth, age 77, passed away January 26, 2025. She was born on January 27, 1947, in Albany, Georgia to Roy Jefferson Posey and Clara Deliah Posey.

Mrs. Hollingsworth was a resident of the Leonia community. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Leonia Baptist Church. She cherished her time serving the Lord with her church family by being involved and by taking part in multiple cantatas, vacation bible school, singing and teaching Sunday school. She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved crafting and taking care of her animals. She also loved to travel and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. Hollingsworth was preceded in death by her husband, of 42 years, Edward Buchannan Hollingsworth, her mother and father and sister Rosalind Holland.

Mrs. Hollingsworth is survived by her children, her two daughters Cassandra Hollingsworth and Tanya Hollingsworth, her son Edward Buchannan Hollingsworth, Jr, (Scarlett), her grandchildren, Raven Clark (Andrew), Willow Motley (Ethan fiancé), Wesley Hollingsworth, Jillian Hollingsworth, Sawyer Hollingsworth, and, her great grandchildren, Jensen Clark, Mason Clark and Lincoln Basford and her sister, Athenia O'Connor, together with multiple nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday February 1, 2025 at Leonia Cemetery; with Reverend Rodd Jones officiating.

Flowers are being accepted.

Burial will be held at Leonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
