Franklin Delano Johnson, 78, of Ponce de Leon, FL, passed away on September 26, 2024. Born on November 19, 1945, Frank was known for his kindness, family-oriented nature, and his sharp wit coupled with true grit.
Frank proudly served in the US Army as a 64A (Light Vehicle Driver), where he was recognized as a sharpshooter and spent a year stationed in Korea. His military service was marked by dedication and bravery, traits he carried throughout his life.
After his military service, Franklin embarked on a lifelong career as a truck driver, a job that suited his love for the open road and independence. Beyond his professional life, Frank was an accomplished woodworker, receiving numerous awards for his skill. His hobbies also included hunting and fishing, and he cherished time spent on the river in his boat, embracing the peace and solitude of nature.
Frank leaves behind his beloved wife of 55 years, Patricia Johnson; his sister, Helen Linton; his children, Randy Johnson and wife Jessica, Tammi Ebare and husband Mike, Patty Johnson, and Sandy Johnson. He was a cherished grandfather to Ashley, Cody, Amber, Kayla, Mariah, Tia, Hannah, Christopher, Haley, Samantha, Gracie, Jordyn, and Brianna, and a great-grandfather to many. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary Johnson, and his brothers, Alvin, Charles, Jerry, and Donald.
A celebration of Frank's life will be announced at a later time. His laughter, wisdom, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
