Obituary

Ms. Mary "Eloise" Floyd Currie, age 85, a lifelong resident of DeFuniak Springs, FL; was born on June 23, 1939, at her home in the Eucheeanna Valley Community. She went to her heavenly home peacefully on March 1, 2025. Ms. Currie is survived by daughter Joann McCullough Culpepper (Bruce), her youngest sister Pearlie Mae Keever. Stepchildren Patrick (Glenda), Micheal (Penny), and Haynes (Lucy) Currie, and grandchildren, Brenna (Kyle), Rachel (Matt), Travis (Will), Shannon, Kaydee (Kale), McKenize, and Lindsey (fiancé Alex). Great- Grandchildren, Liam, Ella Kate, Judah, Fletcher, Owen, Hobson, Sunni, and Barrett.   Nieces Beverly Jackson, Dolores Floyd, Lisa Floyd and Sharon Morris; nephews Harry Kelly Jr., Joseph Alan Kelly, Donnie and Micheal Keever along with many great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by husband Dr. Howard F. Currie, parents Lester Lake and Annie Mae Floyd, oldest brother Ewell Floyd, older sister Louise Buie, younger brothers Hollis Floyd and Chester Floyd, younger sister Ouida Delashmutt, son Alcus "Buddy" Walraven McCullough, step-son Daniel "Dec" Currie, nephew John Glenn Kelly, and nieces Mary and Lynn. Ms. Currie worked hard all her life to support her two children from her former marriage to Alcus Ralph McCullough (deceased 1972). Ms. Currie loved having her best friend Ms. Carolyn Murphy to talk to, kids in the neighborhood to call her babies and give ice cream to, family around her for gatherings, and family reunions.  Her hobbies included genealogy She was devoted to her church, Indian Creek Baptist Church, and was a member for over 20 years; volunteering her time to clean, provide meals or whatever was asked of her. She also enjoyed working in her garden.

Visitation will be held from  6:00 -8:00 PM, Friday, March 14, 2025 at Clary- Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home.

Graveside service will follow at  Eucheeanna Presbyterian Church to follow. Lunch will be provided by Indian Creek Baptist Church after all services come to a close.
