Mr. Edward Lamar Underwood, age 76, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023. He was born on November 3, 1947 in Florence, South Carolina to Harvey Underwood and Gladys Davis Underwood.

Mr. Underwood was a resident of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. He was Catholic by faith and a member of Saint Rita Catholic Church in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, where he served with the Knights of Columbus, and he also served as the financial secretary. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He graduated from Georgia Tech and Cornell University. He received his Masters in Business Administration from Cornell and Bachelors of Industrial Engineer from Georgia Tech. He also received his Master Gardening Degree from the University of Florida. He was an avid world traveler working overseas for 25 years before retiring. He was also an avid photographer.

Mr. Underwood was preceded in death by his father & mother; and one son, Eddie Underwood Jr.

Mr. Underwood is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Toni F. Underwood; one daughter, Eden L. Sharp and husband Doug; two grandchildren, Will & Peter Sharp.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 24,2024 at St. Rita Catholic Church with Father Michael Hartly officiating.

In lieu of flowers family request donations may be being made to the Saint Rita Catholic Church to The Saint Vincent DePaul Society at; 22 St. Rita Lane, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459.

Burial will follow in Historic Gulf Cemetery.
