Obituary

Ms. Debra Hutcheson Tate, lovingly known to her grandchildren as "Nana" took her final breath on earth the morning of January 14, 2023.

Debra was born on July 25, 1953 to Adrian and Ruth Hutcheson and grew up in DeFuniak Springs. Debra contracted polio at the tender age of 3 and developed early on the skills to be a fighter. The disease left her with physical disabilities but she didn't let them stop her from doing what she wanted in her life. She graduated from Walton High School in 1971, went on to marry and have her only son, gained 2 step daughters from a second marriage and went on to have 6 grandchildren in total.

Debra worked in property management for many years and after retirement moved back to DeFuniak Springs. She enjoyed fishing, holidays with her family and quality time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by sister; Rebecca Jacobs and husband Mike of Gainesville, Florida; her brother Randall Hutcheson and wife Delvena of Fairburn, Georgia; her only son, Christopher Coone and wife Beth of DeFuniak Springs; step daughters Chrissy Nelson and Nikki Tate of Marianna, Florida; niece Michelle Jacobs Lehto and husband Chuck of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Nephews Roth and Marc Hutcheson and families of Fairburn, Georgia. Also, her grandson, Christian Coone and granddaughter, Channing Coone and their mother, Kelly Herring and husband David all of DeFuniak Springs. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.

Debra's family would like to thank Chautauqua Rehab and Nursing facility for the excellent care and love for the past years and Gentiva Hospice for their care and respect.

A Celebration of Life will be held by immediate family.
