Cynthia Dawn
Diaz
May 25, 1964 – October 22, 2023
Cynthia Dawn Diaz, age 59, of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023. Cindy was born on May 25, 1964 in Tampa, Florida to Robert George Weaver and Doris Elaine Bach Weaver.
After a brief stay in Florida, the family moved to Georgia where she fell in love with horses. She had a horse named Apple Jack for several years and rode him extensively. She graduated from Stephens County High School in 1982 and attended University of North Georgia- Gainesville. She started her career with Data General, and three years later joined The Intel Corporation and remained there for seventeen years. In 2017, she retired after a successful career as regional vice president for marketing and sales and dedicated her life to the Sweet Home Doberman Rescue.
Cindy met her husband, Carlos Diaz, in 1992 in Atlanta, Georgia. They both shared a passion for traveling, and made it a point to choose two new locations every year to explore. In 2000 they moved to Florida and built The Gracie's Jiu Jitsu studio. She was passionate and devoted to the craft, and earned a blue belt.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Cindy. Her friendships encompassed all aspects of her life, and each was special to her. From phone call chats, to sharing formal and informal meals. From traveling adventures near and far, to helping in times of sadness and difficulty, Cindy was always up for it. She loved real estate, listening and dancing to live music, midnight walks on the beach, and trail hiking with her fur-babies.
Above all, her main love in life was dogs, especially Dobermans. After retirement she became a foster mom for The Sweet Home Doberman Rescue. She fostered many sick dogs and would rehabilitate them to a quality of life. Her heart was so big and full of love for these babies, that she ended up adopting many of her fosters. Cindy leaves an indelible impression on those who called her daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Cindy's brilliant spirit, radiant smile, and compassionate heart captivated everyone who had a chance to know her. Her vivacious and
giving spirit will be missed by so many.
Cindy was preceded in death by her grandparents Harry Frank Bach, Jr., Helen Louise Bach Denecke, Henry Matthew Weaver, Amelia Louise Weaver; her mother Doris Elaine Bach Weaver; her Dobermans Royce, Rickson, Nala, and Beckham.
She is survived by her ex-husband Carlos Diaz; her father Robert George Weaver; sisters Cheryl Joyce Weaver Harris and husband Stephen Charles Harris, Judi Beth Weaver Olseng and husband David Robert Olseng, Doreen Joy Weaver Lawton and husband Ernie Joseph Lawton; and her Doberman rescues Jax, Buckshot and Ellie Mayhem.
Even though Cindy left us too soon, she lived an extraordinary life surrounded by people who adored her.
Instead of a traditional funeral, her friends have organized a Celebration of Life at Shunk Gulley Restaurant to be held at 3:00 - 5:00 PM, Sunday, November 12, 2023. Purple was Cindy's favorite color. Friends have asked for those who attend to wear something purple in honor of her.
In lieu of flowers, you may donate to a charity that was close to her heart, Sweet Home Doberman Rescue, via Venmo, Cash App, Facebook, or at https://www.sweethomedobermanrescue.org/donate.
