Mrs. Betty Lou Kennington Stafford, age 94, passed away February 3, 2025.  She was born on July 26, 1930 in Red Bay, Florida to James Patrick Kennington and Sarah Rigdon Kennington.

Mrs. Stafford was a resident of Walton and Holmes County. She was a Baptist by faith and a member of Seagrove Baptist Church. She retired from ASCS after 32 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She volunteered at Caring and Sharing at Santa Rosa Beach in her retirement years. She was an active member and volunteer at Red Bay Baptist Church, First Baptist in DeFuniak Springs and Seagrove Baptist.

Mrs. Stafford was preceded in death by her parents, James Patrick Kennington and Sarah Rigdon Kennington; her husband Gene (Pete) Stafford and siblings, Cameron Reese Kennington, Carmen Lou Kennington, James Rigdon Kennington and Dallas Washington Kennington.

Mrs. Stafford is survived by her son, Richard Stafford and his wife Carol Sholes Stafford; daughter, Carol S. Knight and her husband Rob Knight; grandchildren, Jack Knight, Sarah Furr and Tuck Stafford and one great grandson, Crew Furr.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; with Reverend Gary Wiggins officiating.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Seagrove Baptist Church at 4915 E County Highway 30ASanta Rosa Beach, FL 32459 or Red Bay Baptist Church at 9738 Rock Hill Rd Ponce de Leon, FL 32455.

Burial will be held at Red Bay Cemetery immediately after the services.
