"Tony" Mennillo Iii
March 1, 1950 – July 20, 2022
Mr. Arthur Anthony "Tony" Mennillo, III flew to be with his Lord and Savior on July 20, 2022. Tony's roots ran deep, his great-great-grandparents left Boggy Bayou (Niceville area) in 1926 to settle and fish in Destin.
Tony swam and fished the blue-green waters and played on the snow-white beaches and dunes throughout his childhood. He graduated from Choctawhatchee High School and Fort Worth Community College with a degree in television production. He spent the next twenty years opening retail stores with the state of Florida for major corporations. In 1997, Tony and his wife Sharon reopened Arturo's Studio Vintage Stock Photography of the Emerald Coast. He loved his family, photography, writing, and preserving and protecting history. He wrote three pictorial history books along with placing vintage images in many local establishments. His passion was taking his wife Sharon to the beach for the Spring Pompano Run.
Mr. Mennillo was preceded in death by his parents Arthur "Arturo" A Mennillo II, Olivia Nichols Mennillo and his brother Ricky Mennillo.
Mr. Mennillo is survived by his wife of 40 years Sharon, sister Carol (Roger) Davis, grandson Cameron (Torie) Brockman, great-grand daughter Emmie Jane Brockman expected in August. Brother in laws Mark (Ima) Holderfield, Judson Holderfield, and David (Wendy) Joiner; sister in law Chris (James) Ryals. Nephews Tim (Michelle) Davis, Kevin (Allison) Artist. Nieces Julie (John) Milam, Candace Artist, Nicole Holderfield, Brooke Holderfield. Tony also had a host of great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00-2:30 PM, Saturday, September 24, 2022 at The First Presbyterian Church of Destin; 154 Calhoun Avenue, Destin FL 32541.
