Allie Myrle Yates of DeFuniak Springs, Florida joined our Lord and Savior, peacefully surrounded by her family on January 6th, 2023. Myrle was born on August 13th, 1933 in DeFuniak Springs, Fl to the late Jesse and Allie Richardson.
In September 1951, Myrle married and had three children with the love of her life, high school sweetheart, Coy M. Yates. Over the next 20 years they traveled the world together. Coy's military career took them to postings all over the world before they returned to DeFuniak Springs in 1971.
Myrle leaves a legacy of faith and unconditional love in the lives of her 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was filled with pride at the accomplishments of her family, always offering unconditional love, support, sympathy, and motivation to succeed. Her spiritual gifts served as a shining example to everyone she met.
Myrle is preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and one sister.
Myrle is survived by her husband of 71 years, Coy M. Yates. Her children Perry Yates (Cindy), Alan Yates (Debbie), Cynthia Obermeyer (Richard); grandchildren; Kristen Rodriguez (Artie), Jared Yates (Ceselly), Jessica Obermeyer (John), Adam Yates (Ceely), Lauren Gere (Rob), and Katelyn Tran (Thai).
Myrle was a faithful member of New Harmony Baptist Church.
A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Monday, January 9, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 9, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Todd Camp officiating.
Pallbearers will be Adam Yates, Jared Yates, Artie Rodriguez, Larry Adams, Donnie Richardson, and Matthew Richardson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Harmony Baptist Church at 2281 County, FL-2, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433.
Burial will follow in the Crowder Chapel Cemetery.
