Mrs. Alethia Phronie Barrett, age 93, passed away January 1, 2023.  She was born on August 14, 1929 in Calhoun County, Florida to Abbie McKinney and Sarah Pippin McKinney.

Mrs. Barrett had lived most of her life in Walton County, Florida. She was Assembly of God by faith and a member of Cornerstone Life Church in Point Washington, Florida. She worked as a substitute School Teacher, and School Bus Driver for the Okaloosa and Walton County School Districts for 32 ½ years. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and growing flowers.

Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by father and mother, Abbie McKinney and Sarah Pippin McKinney; her husband Otis Barrett; one daughter, Deborah Ann Barrett; one brother, Donald Ted McKinney, one sister, Gladys Garren.

Mrs. Barrett is survived by her two sons, Reverend Earl Barrett and wife Brenda of Point Washington, Florida and Reverend Tim Barrett and wife Donetta of Versailles, Indiana; seven grandchildren, David Barrett, Heather Barrett, Victor Barrett and wife Tammy, April Little and husband Scott, Zachery Barrett, Jesse Barrett, Anna Barrett and eleven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20, Freeport, Florida 32439. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home, with Reverends Tim Barrett and Earl Barrett officiating.

Flowers are being accepted.

Burial will be held at West Bay Cemetery.
