Mr. Ramon Casares, age 33, of DeFuniak Springs passed away April 29, 2008. He was born November 13, 1974 in Miami, Florida to Segudo and Mercedes Casares. Mr. Casares had been a resident of DeFuniak Springs for three years moving from Miami, Florida. He was an instructor, mentor and friend to hundreds of military students at Eglin, Hulbert, Tyndall and Mac Dill Air Force Bases. Ray was not only technically minded he was a poet, an artist, a philosopher. He was a very creative, accomplished and giving individual. He always shard with his wife Marta, if he could share a piece of himself to touch someone, to implant a seed in their hearts, in their souls he accomplished his mission. Mr. Casares is survived by his father and mother of Miami, Florida, his wife Marta Casares, one son Jonathan Revan Casares, two daughters Jacqueline Mercedes Casares and Sophia Rhiannon Casares all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, and three sisters Carol C. Lumkin, Maria E. Anello and Elvira C. Del Moral all of Miami, Florida. Funeral services will be held in Miami and a memorial service will be held locally at a later date.
