Mrs. Christine Asselstine, age 75, of DeFuniak Springs passed away April 9, 2008. She was born December 19, 2008 in Westville, Florida to Oliver and Ardella Hicks Ammons. Mrs. Asselstine was Baptist by faith. She enjoyed shopping, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Asselstine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Virgil D. Asselstine, two sisters Eloise McCarthy and Jewel Wheathers. Mrs. Asselstine is survived by her three sons Mark D. Asselstine and wife Karen of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, David J. Asselstine and wife Lynn of Irving, Texas and Gary W. Asselstine of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, two daughters Sharon D. Gladue and Pam Jones and husband Steve all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, two sisters Jeanette Carroll of Zachery, Louisiana and Mary Ellen Miller of Tallassee, Alabama, eleven grandchildren Michelle Martinez and husband Angel, Douglas Gladue, Joseph Gladue, Daniel Gladue, Lisa Brown, Scott Asselstine and wife Felicia, Brian Asselstine and wife Liz, Alex Asselstine, D.J. Asselstine, Matthew Asselstine, Victoria Asselstine and David Jones, nineteen great-grandchildren also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation services will be conducted at 6:00~8:00 PM, Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 14, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Richard Murray officiating. Burial will follow in the Barrancas National Cemetery at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 14, 2008.
