Mr. William Joseph Tyrone Ealum, age 74, passed away on 1January 2026. He was born on 17 January 1951 in Red Level, Alabama to James Thomas Ealum Sr. and Lue Eria Bush Ealum.
Mr. Ealum was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He proudly served as an airborne Master Sergeant in the United States Army Special Forces as a Green Beret during the Vietnam Era. He graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach Florida in 1969 and later earned four bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of West Florida in Anthropology, Humanities Interdisciplinary, Religious Studies, and Philosophy in 1987.
Mr. Ealum was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas Ealum Sr. and Lue Eria Bush Ealum; his brother, Carrel Gorum Ealum; and his sister-in-law, Martha Eloise Smith Ealum.
Mr. Ealum is survived by his son, Adam Omega Ealum (wife Megan Weeks Ealum); his daughter, Crystal Michelle Ealum; his granddaughter, Zoi Missou; his three brothers, James Thomas Ealum Jr., Elbert Hillard Ealum (wife Peggy Wages Ealum), and Darrel Bush Ealum (wife Linda Powell Ealum); and his sister, Bettilue Ealum Laurie (husband Andrew Laurie). Tyrone is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, 9 January 2026, at Brooks Cemetery on Gorum Bridge Road, Brook, Alabama 36474, with Reverend James Thomas Ealum Jr. and Reverend Michael Bush officiating.
Flowers are welcome.
Burial will take place at Brooks Cemetery in Brooks, Alabama.
