Mr. William Allen Fannin, age 76, passed away April 6, 2024. He was born on September 21, 1947 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to W.C. Fannin and Ina Mae McCormick Fannin.
Mr. Fannin was a resident of Freeport, Florida. He was Morman by faith and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the Freeport branch. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was also a devoted brother, son and uncle. He was a member of the first graduating class of Freeport High School in 1965. He coached baseball, softball and basketball for 45 years. He was known as "Coach Allen", and he was a diehard Florida Gator fan. He owned and operated numerous businesses throughout the Freeport area. He was an avid Pool player, having won first place in the State Pool League. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends.
Mr. Fannin was preceded in death by his father and mother, brothers Bill and Cleve Fannin and Uncle Guy Fannin.
Mr. Fannin is survived by his wife of 23 years, Rachel L Fannin of Freeport, Florida; two children, Jimmy Fannin wife Jennifer and Denise Rodgers and husband Bobby all of freeport, Florida; four step children, Dewayne Sewell and wife Princess Joy of Colorado, Bubba Sewell of Troy Alabama, Heath Sewell and wife Jackie of Colorado and Shane Currie wife Callie of Troy, Alabama. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren with one on the way. He is also survived by two brothers, Roger Fannin wife Geraldine Fannin of DeFuniak Springs, Florida and Paul Fannin wife Michelle of Freeport, Florida and two sisters, Gayle Cobb husband Harmon of Anniston, Alabama and Rhonda Westphal husband Keith of Tallahassee, Florida and an abundance of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20 East, Freeport, Florida 32439.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; with Pastor Ron Thames and Pastor Louis Taunton officiating.
Flowers are being accepted or the family asks that donations be made to Freeport High School Athletics at 3030 State Highway 20 Freeport, FL 32439.
Pallbearers will be J.R Fannin, Allen Fannin, David Fannin, Bryce Fannin, Hunter Bailey and Jerett Sewell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jake Fannin, Matthew McKinney, Connor Fannin, Cory Sewell and Darian Fannin.
Burial will be held at Black Creek Methodist Cemetery.
